The 336 is where CAT's mid-large excavator line steps up — 36-ton class, ~232 kW (311 hp) C9.3B, 2.27 m³ bucket, and the Next Gen electrical-hydraulic package that the older 336F/D series can't match. Factory standard tech (Grade 2D, Payload, Grade Assist) means you're not paying dealer retrofit prices. For quarry loading, rock face digging, large foundation and mine aux work, this is the "just right" size — a 320 is too small, a 349 is overkill.
